Master Your Mechanics

Who would have thought that kicking a soccer ball with my knee would help improve my run?! Not me! When my coach (there he is on the side!) instructed me to do this exercise I was like, ok? I feel like Karate Kid, wax on, wax off.

So what does this do? It strengthens my hip flexors (a muscle I didn't even know I had!) for a quicker turnover and a more stable run.

That's the beauty of a good coach who knows mechanics- the machinery of working parts - to produce the most effective motion. I'm learning how powerful I really am using muscles I've never correctly exercised. 💪🏾
